 @cvedovini this is not something every plugin developer should have to
 implement into it's own plugin. And as mentioned in many comments above,
 it is not an ideal solution to the issue.

 The fix should be handled in core or in a plugin like the one I wrote for
 this issue (but preferably in core in the future).
