 Still waiting for either schema change or code level validation here. A
 patch has been provided multiple times for schema change (which is imho.
 the best way forward) and there is a serious lack of feedback from the
 core team to the dozens of participants in this ticket. Either let us know
 what's wrong with the current patch so it can be fixed or mark this five
 year old behemoth as wontfix.
