 In 4.2 (and older), post validation seems to be off.

 To replicate the issue, go to "Posts" -> "Add New" (or any other post
 type), and just hit "Publish". It will briefly redirect to "message=6",
 the message that is displayed is "Post published. View post".

 The post in this case is not published and clicking the link to view the
 post will of course 404.
