 Random question: why isn't the function name `get_the_archive_title`? We
 finally got `get_the_permalink` in core (3.9 I think?) to match the other
 core templating functions (`get_the_title`, `get_the_ID`, etc.) -
 shouldn't that convention be mirrored for new functions?

 As a side note - should that convention be documented somewhere, so it's
 followed for additional new functions?
