 DFW itself is not disabled, it can be toggled on with all of the features
 that come along with it, so that's really not a fair comparison.

 This really comes down to decisions not options, IMO. Doing something
 "automatically" inherently implies that it will be enabled by default with
 an option to disable it. So if we're inclined to add the feature but
 disable its automatic-ness, then I question whether this is something we
 should be adding.
