 It's been said before that if the inclination is to disable a new feature
 by default, perhaps it's not worth the effort of adding that feature in
 the first place. I think Scott (@wonderboymusic) raises a valid concern
 about a degraded experience in the editor should the fading be included.

 I tend to agree with that sentiment. I've never been a fan of the fading
 in DFW, and would not like to see it come to the default editor either.
