 Trying to change "Users must be registered and logged in to comment" in
 the Discussion area of the Settings area. I'm redirected to the main
 domain's 404 page and the setting is not saved.

 I'm on domain.com/subfolder/wp-admin/options-discussion.php and when I
 choose Save, referred to domain.com/404
