 [attachment:28307.6.diff] corrects the excess wp_die, and uses mb_strlen
 when available.

 I also noticed a bug when testing where the drop-down is slightly
 misplaced the first time it is used and then seems to correct its location
 on subsequent loads, haven't pinpointed the exact issue maybe a jQuery UI
 bug?
