Comment:

 Those colors were chosen because they are the official WP school colors.
 Global overrides for MediaElement take place in `wp-mediaelement.css`. So,
 once you update there, they are updated everywhere. Themes can
 subsequently override those in their own CSS.

 If this happens soon, 3.9, otherwise next time.
