 Sorry I reported my ticket as a duplicate of this one.
 And also sorry to see that this defect has not been solved for over three
 years now.
 The patch file attached to ticket #29043 should solve all (14!) issues
 still left in 4.0 trunk regarding using null-objects, whether they are
 post, post_type or status_obj.
