 Hi Alan,

 i tried it on a new and clean installation of the german WP 3.9.1 and it
 does not work for me anyway.
 i tried both, uploading an image over tinymce and over the backend ->
 media interface, then i changed all information (post_title, post_content,
 post_excerpt) multiple times and all the time post_date still equals
 post_modified and post_date_gmt equals post_modified_gmt.
 those values do not change in any case.
 for posts though, it works well.
