 > - Should we switch to the jQuery TinyMCE build? As TinyMCE also uses
Sizzle, it can use the one included in jQuery, so its size will be reduced
a bit. We require jQuery for both DFW and wpLink, but the basic TinyMCE
outputted from `WP_Editor` can still be used without jQuery.

I hope it's not to late to cast a vote here... but after digging into my
tinymce addons, I've realized how much nicer it would be to have jQuery
 built-in.

The size of the 4.0.16 TinyMCE non-jQuery build is 280KB; the jQuery build
is 274KB. Lighter is better.. Yes??

Andrew, your pay grade is WAY above mine.. so I'm not sure I understand
the implications of using the jQuery build within the scope of WordPress.

However... my vote is definitely to include the jQuery version. It makes
developing additional plugins a breeze. And, if it still retains it's
 original functionality... even better.

What would be any downsides to using the jQuery build?
