Comment:

 I was able to reproduce this in both 3.9.2 and trunk.

 To clarify the steps, here's what I did:

 1. Switch the editor to Text, paste the HTML.
 2. Switch to Visual.
 3. Move the cursor to the end.
 4. Type a few lines of text.
 5. Switch back to Text mode - the lines I added in step 4 are wrapped in
 divs.
