#27196: More informative message when plugin installs fail
-----------------------------------+-----------------------------------
Reporter: DavidAnderson | Owner:
Type: enhancement | Status: new
Priority: normal | Milestone: 4.0
Component: Text Changes | Version: 3.8
Severity: normal | Resolution:
Keywords: needs-patch 4.0-early | Focuses: docs, administration
-----------------------------------+-----------------------------------
Changes (by DrewAPicture):
* component: Upgrade/Install => Text Changes
* milestone: Future Release => 4.0
Comment:
Some notes:
* Following the tone and structure of the first two strings, "Unpacking
the package ..." and "Installing the plugin ...", the third string should
be "''The'' plugin folder already exists."
* The fourth string seems a little wordier than it needs to be, leading to
an unclear message: Should I do this one thing or this other thing? Or
both?
* Maybe something like this instead: "Visit the Updates screen to update
existing plugins, or delete the existing plugin first before attempting to
reinstall."
