Comment:

 I've tested my patch, and twisting it every which way that I can think of,
 and I can't see anything broken afterwards.

 Then again, the breaking originated in my code in the first place, so I'd
 appreciate others eyes on it!

 Nacins patch here also appears to work, and fixes this specific problem.
