 [attachment:22704_r25650] is a small refactor of r25650, reducing
 duplicate code (multiple file_exists() calls) by moving the VCS directory
 names into an array which is then looped through. Also updates the
 function short description to indicate that more than just Git and SVN are
 now checked.

 May want that `'/'` added via a `trailingslashit()` call instead of an
 appended string.
