Comment:

 Core does not add rel attribute values anywhere, and definitely not for a
 lightbox. This sounds like a plugin or theme filtering your gallery
 output. If you can reproduce with a default theme (e.g. Twenty Thirteen)
 and no plugins, please feel free to reopen. Otherwise, you'll want to try
 the [http://wordpress.org/support/ forums].
