 I chatted with @rmccue on Twitter & WP API already supports JSON-P, it
 just isn't in the docs yet. He also has some plans to extend WP API that
 he hasn't had time to writeup yet.

 If he's that far effort-wise then coming up with a JSON format that works
 for WP (extended AS1 or new) and letting Ryan catch up on WP API might
 keep code & duplicate efforts down.
