 I've provided both as options, but I'd be happy to cut it down to one. I
 not convinced that the rss.js spec is mature enough for us to lock it into
 permanent use. The major downside of AS1 is that it's more verbose than
 rss.js, but I don't think overly so. It has a well defined spec, and some
 traction in the social network world.

 Agreed - by providing either of these, it'll give a significant boost to
 adoption. JSON is easier to work with than XML, so I expect people will
 want to use it when it's available.
