 Haha, I knew something was up since it seemed like such an obvious
 improvement!

 In terms of the transition, I would be surprised if the PFUI ever removed
 it because it's very important to make the change less jarring. Mark
 Jaquith linked [https://medium.com/design-ux/926eb80d64e3 this article] on
 make/ui in explanation of the animations. I think the issue here is that
 with the potential for so many elements to change at once, animating the
 color/font changes helps; though since the size and position of the editor
 transition, perhaps it's okay.

 lancewillett, I see you included the iconography in the commit; I'd say
 keep it if it works. The updated quote format styling (accounting for
 content-before-quote) didn't make it in though, so that case doesn't work,
 although putting only the quote in the editor, without blockquote, works
 and is the implied intended use.
