Comment:

 For the most part, I just worked from the styles in the PF section of
 style.css. It turns out that we can do quite a lot in terms of added
 styling (like with the status format) in addition to just changing the
 background color, so I retained those styles. Also threw in a transition
 on everything on the body (where most of the styles are applied); I
 thought linear looked better than ease in this case. The included styling
 is designed to work as best as possible with both new and “legacy” content
 (pre-post-formats-UI), to render as close to the frontend as possible.

 Tested and should work with latest Chrome, Firefox, and IE 10.
