 And those developers should look bad since they didn't add a nice message
 on activation what MikeSchinkel describes. I just find that plugins need
 to solve this them self. PHP and MySQL is one thing but you still can have
 other server configurations that are needed.

 The big problem is that most people don't know the versions they run on.
 Putting an error can have some users say something to their hosts that
 they need a newer PHP version but most people will find another plugin.
 Forcing hosting to upgrade is a good thing but I doubt this ticket will
 help to that.

 I do think that this discussion should move to the hacker list. Since we
 don't discuss the code but the need of the feature.
