 19570.13.diff adds a description line for each format:

 description.jpg)]]

 Without this description, after selecting a post format the users is left
 wondering, "Okay... What next".

 I also reorganized the order in which the formats appear, giving weight to
 the more popular ones.  For now, they are hard-coded.

 As for the descriptions, I'd like to keep these short.  Help with the copy
 here would be much appreciated:

 - Standard - Add a title and description for your post below.
 - Image - Select an image using the Add Media button below.
 - Gallery - Use the Add Media button below to select images for your
 gallery.
 - Link - Add a link URL below.
 - Video - Paste a video embed URL below, or click Add Media to upload a
 video.
 - Audio - Paste an audio embed URL below, or click Add Media to upload an
 audio file.
 - Chat - Paste a chat transcript below.
 - Status - What are you up to?  Enter your status message below.
 - Quote - Enter a quote below.
 - Aside - Enter a quick thought or side topic below.
