 Another alternative: currently this is checking for the $same_host field
 and ignoring the private check if the domain of the URL and the domain of
 the home match. Perhaps extending this to allow base domain matches would
 fit the bill.

 So aaa.example.com and bbb.example.com would be able to talk to each other
 without the private IP check.
