 yeah - the kovshenin patch seems to help that, but I think the bigger
 issue is that portrait videos don't reliably play as portrait.

 Main reason: we actually have no idea when the video is portrait, unless
 the user changes the dimensions by hand. Even then, the video probably
 will be laying on its side.
