 Ah yes there is some overlap with #12567. That ticket also covers post
 statuses in general. The complication comes with the post password, which
 is grouped in with the Private status selector even though post passwords
 aren't related to post status.

 Maybe post password needs to be a post type feature, and the 'private'
 status a status that can be enabled/disabled. I'll finish off my patch and
 see where we get.
