 1. (off topic) the text editor is *not* an HTML editor as HTML doesn't
 have shortcodes and you need to wrap content in p or div

 both ways.
 The workflow with "add media" will be
 1. click "add media"
 2. click "Insert from URL:
 3. fill data and insert into post

 The work flow with the "img" button will be
 1. click "img"
 2. first window enter the URL
 3. second window enter alt text

 So even without any of the advantages of the media library you get the
 exact same result, the "img" way is not faster and it is much uglier.

 Just because I do some HTML editing doesn't mean that I want to use the
 same interface like it is 2000 all over again ;)
