 Hey, thanks for chiming in.  It's never too late (until we hit code freeze
 ;-)).  I actually played around with a similar concept a while back:

 The big drawback to this approach that I saw (aside from it being a
 drastically different flow from what users are used to - and as a result
 something they would have to likely re-teach themselves), is that you lose
 the ability to add multiple pages, categories, or posts at once.  In the
 current flow, you can select a bunch of pages, and add them all at once.
 With the flow you propose, you'd have to add each page one by one.  I feel
 like that is a blocker for going this route.
