 14045.diff is just a potential solution and one that was proposed to test
 specifically to see if the functionality could work. No one is entirely
 ruling out the widget screen accessibility mode as a means of
 accomplishing this, but even that has functionality as yet to be
 determined. (In fact, a mockup is being worked on as was discussed in the
 accessibility group's IRC meeting yesterday.)

 FWIW, I just tested 14045.diff and basically confirmed your above
 suspicions as a JAWS user myself.
