Comment:

 Is the [http://core.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/26712/26712.patch
 patch] that I posted in #26712 not sufficient to create parity between
 hierarchical and non-hierarchical post types? Two years is a long time for
 this to have been in limbo.
