 Prior to 3.8, if a toolbar item is greater than the width of the standard
 dropdown menu, the dropdown menu would grow larger. This is in part for
 visual reasons, and in part because you don't always open a dropdown from
 the left side, and you don't want the dropdown to be inaccessible (even
 HoverIntent won't necessarily give you this leeway).

 This is broken in 3.8. I don't remember how this was implemented, but if
 it is broken, it is possible other things are as well.
