 by using the core WP 3.8 product as it currently is in trunk, people are
 automatically, and unknowningly, opting in to giving Google information
 about their habits, interests, products, etc.

 This still seems like a pretty theoretical concern; I'm not aware of any
 evidence that Google Fonts is being used for nefarious tracking purposes.
