Comment:

The codex, being on MediaWiki, has different constraints on passwords and
usernames than our support forums, where the usernames and passwords
actually live. So there is a mismatch there that is not easily fixable.

In the long run, we hope to eliminate the use of MediaWiki. However, there
is a viable workaround, which is to use a more compatible, but much
longer, password. Like, 30-40 characters instead of only 20.

For now, I'm marking this as wontfix. Eventually, we'll have a better
 system for documentation than mediawiki.
