Comment:

 IE8 does not support CSS3 transitions or transparent backgrounds. We could
 provide a fallback with a solid color, but this might make it worse than
 it is now. I'd prefer to leave it as is, it's an old browser.

 I added a fix for the non-displaying galleries.
