That makes sense now. Thanks for explaining.

Understood, and agree on the principle. But if the result is they fork it
and make it less stable, wouldn't in principle it be best to find some
middle ground to minimize the impact?
With that I'll leave this ticket because I clearly missed the part you
explained about the bundling so now realize I don't have experience with
all the issues.
