 I agree it simplifies the experience considerably.

 Question:  Will new users (I mean the newest of the new) understand what
 is happening without a little explanation text?  It might be a little
 *too* streamlined for those users.  How about a brief prompt above the
 text boxes, like:
 "Type the name of the page you want to use.  If you haven't created it
 yet, just type in the name you want to use, and we'll create it for you."
