Comment:

 The 'HTML' tab isn't actually HTML, most of the time; it's plain text that
 gets converted to HTML via wpautop(). That's why it was recently renamed
 to 'Text'.

 Given this, I don't think we'll ever see syntax highlighting in the Text
 tab.
