Comment:

 11 days without any reaction; the patch needs another refresh
 (`options_reading_add_js` should be an own JS file). If it's still planned
 for 3.5 we should get this into core before RC.

 But it seems like this needs some more discussion and also work to include
 it into the customizer. What about a revert of [22127] and a retry in 3.6?
