 I think a change here makes a lot of sense. I almost did this in [20947].

 Because we split the query, we should be telegraphing as much as possible
 the benefits of two queries, A) so people realize how great of a change
 this is, and B) so people who watch obsessively query counts don't go nuts
 over this.
