 Currently WordPress doesn't give you the option to easily add images from
 your WordPress plugin to your blogroll items (links). I just released a
 plugin to do that (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/blogroll-media-
 library-image/) and was told this would be a good one to add to core.

 I would love to add a diff-file, but I have no idea how to do this.
