 Thanks for the quick reply scribu. I don't intend it as anything extra for
 end users to deal with. I'm simply trying to reduce ambiguity about what
 is happening during the auto-update. The intent is to make it that much
 easier for plugin authors to be aware of what does and doesn't happen
 during auto-updates, so they are more likely to write code that Just
 Works.
