 There are certainly ways, but maybe something to think about in the future
 instead? Thoughts? I worry about things like how that will go over for a
 screen reader if it's text, and making every single one an image is pretty
 lame.

 It looks okay to me at the larger size on a regular display, and quite
 nice on a retina display. Patch: [attachment:21019.curtime.diff]. Needs
 [attachment:date-button-retina.gif] renamed to `date-button-2x.gif`; patch
 doesn't SVN add it.

 Screenshot from FF on OSX, also tested in Chrome and Safari - could
 probably use IE eyes just in case. I still need to get set up on my
 current machine.
