 Sorry, I see that it's not in my paste up there, but I did test that.  It
 did what *I* would want it to do, which is that the permalink used the
 category even though the post wasn't in it and it is NOT canonically
 redirected.  Since you're manually overriding this, I think that would be
 the expected response.
