Comment:

 The download page indicates 3.8 MB for .zip, 3.4 MB for .tar.gz.

 As mentioned in the [https://irclogs.wordpress.org/chanlog.php?channel
 =wordpress-dev&day=2012-06-13&sort=asc#m407148 IRC pre-release chat], the
 sizes have increased. Current sizes are about 4.7 MB for .zip, 4.3 MB for
 .tag.gz.
