 It's probably worth mentioning that if this is broken out into a new
 plugin and it's decided to offer an automated migration in the regular WP
 update (in the case where links were actually used), then this means that
 the plugin will *need* to be included with WP itself since some
 installations won't be able to automatically download and install the
 plugin from the directory.

 If it's not, it could end up adding another step to the update where users
 will be required to manually install the plugin during the WP update
 depending on the installation type and configuration.
