 So far it looks great.  I modified the
 attachment:ticket:18536:18536.4.diff in
 attachment:ticket:18536:18536.5.diff to pull out the section that primed
 the post cache into it's own function since this can be used in other
 places in core.

 I hope to test this on one of our larger sites later today.
