 Just coming in from a fresh experience of upgrading a production site to
 the latest (3.3.1), there is also the use of SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS in the
 user.php that was introduced recently (I haven't checked the revision
 history of it just yet). This should utilize a different approach as well.
 Is that easy to add to this patch?
