 We have similar problems  with gallery previews in themes like Twenty
 Eleven. As Nacin mentions, these bugs have existed forever, but you had to
 edit the shortcode to notice them. I think these small teething pains are
 sufferable for now in exchange for the gallery flexibility we've all been
 wanting. Let's do a filter for 3.5 and work up a plugin that can become
 the basis for a fix in 3.6 (or 3.5.1 if the changes are small enough).
