 Things I like about this:

 * Each flow gets its own selection model. Gallery can do one click multi
 select without needing keyboard modifiers, insert can use a traditional
 shift/cmd/ctl+click multi-select model, featured image, custom background,
 and custom header can use a model allowing only one image to be selected.
 This avoids a common problem we were seeing on wordpress.com, accidentally
 inserting multiple images.
 * The fields shown for each view can be customized. There is no need to
 show the insert/display related fields in the featured image flow, for
 example.
 * It avoids button profusion from plugins. There won't be Create Gallery,
 Create Slideshow, Create Foo buttons all crowding one media library
 screen. Instead, those can create their own flows. This is a problem we
 ran into on wordpress.com when trying to fit custom galleries into the new
 media UI.
 * It doesn't conflate actions with sources. Actions are in the left
 sidebar, sources are above the media list. Pick one and then pick the
 other. No more jumping around mixed sources and actions in the left
 sidebar.
 * The header provides needed context.
