Comment:

 [attachment:22681.diff] seems to work - tested Firefox and Chrome on OSX
 and IE7 and IE8 in XP on Browserstack. IE doesn't center the images -
 probably because of the transform used. I don't think it's a wrecky
 experience for those browsers, but can look at doing more with it if so
 desired.
